Balochistan Gets Off to a Winning Start Against CP Thanks To Shan Masood And Amad Brilliant Performances:

In the second game of the National T20 Cup 2022, Balochistan and Central Punjab faced off. Balochistan scored 186/4 in 20 overs while batting first. Together, Asad Shafiq and Haseebullah Khan scored 36 runs for the first wicket. Asad Shafiq and Haseebullah Khan were both dismissed by Ahmed Daniyal in back-to-back deliveries, putting Balochistan in trouble.

Central Punjab was unaware that they would be dealt with harshly after 36/2. Shan Masood and Abdul Wahid Bangalzai accepted the duty of saving Balochistan. Together, they scored 111 runs throughout the course of their more than 12 overs of play. Balochistan was reduced to 148/4 by Ahmed Daniyal’s second dismissal of both of the batters in this partnership in the same over. Shan and Bangalzai both scored 54 runs.

Amad Butt followed up with a barrage of 21(9)*, which featured a few sixes and a four, and Hussain Talat countered with 16(13)*, giving Balochistan a final score of 186/4. Ahmed Daniyal secured each of the four wickets.

At the beginning of the chase, Central Punjab was not moving. Despite playing some solid shots, Ahmed Shahzad and Abdullah Shafique did not make use of the PowerPlay overs. While trying to score 187 runs, the opening stand only lasted for 5.4 overs and only 33 runs were scored. Ammad Butt first dismissed Ahmed Shahzad, and Yasir Shah dismissed Abdullah Shafique in the following over. Ahmad and Abdullah both had strike rates below 90 when batting.

When Qasim Akram and Tayyab Tahir opted to run, Shan Masood made an outstanding catch off Kashif Bhatti, which allowed Qasim to be caught at fine leg. However, Tayyab Tahir and Irfan Khan Niazi at the other end kept breaking barriers.

Tayyab’s superb and timed aggression, which resulted in many boundaries, kept Central Punjab’s hopes alive. Tayyab Tahir scored 51 (33), with seven fours and a six. Before Tayyab was caught and bowled by Amad Butt, he had a 61-run partnership with Irfan Khan Niazi.

Irfan Khan Niazi and Faheem Ashraf, two dangerous-looking batsmen, were at the crease as Central Punjab reached 127/4 after 16 overs. Central Punjab had a little advantage with 4 overs remaining and 60 needed to be scored. Khurram Shahzad’s 17th over, which cost 16 runs, revived Central Punjab’s hopes by one run. With 44 runs needed off of 18 balls, Irfan Khan Niazi was hitting the ball fairly well, and it appeared that an intriguing finale was about to unfold.

As the 18th over also cost 16 runs, Faheem and Irfan both kept up the attack, and Central Punjab now just needed 28 runs in 2 overs, which appeared doable. Being trusted with the 19th over was Amad Butt. In order to make things easier for Balochistan, Amad Butt demonstrated his expertise by dismissing Faheem Ashraf on the third ball of his over. Amad Butt concluded with figures off 3/28 in his 4 overs, allowing just 9 runs in the 19th over.

Khurram Shahzad was sent in to bowl the innings’ last over. Central Punjab gained the advantage in this game after the second ball of the over resulted in a six, followed by a wide and a four. Irfan Khan Niazi also hit his fifty with this fantastic powerful hitting. Both teams had an equal opportunity to win this game when 6 were needed off of 2 balls. Khurram Shahzad maintained composure and stopped these 6 runs, giving Balochistan a 2-run victory.
