The Era of youngster’s | Two English Youngsters who rose through the ranks:

The way England has taken the world by storm by playing according to their newfangled approach, famously known as the Bazball approach, has the potential to revolutionize the original format of the game. The fearless approach with which they encountered the wayward and relatively inexperienced Pakistan team has produced records which will remain etched on the top of the lists for some time now.

This approach has not only helped England trounce their opposition, no matter who they were, but has also helped the players bring the best out of them. The young players of the team, who debuted under the Stokes-McCullum duo have and will benefit the most from this strategy. Knowing that a group of intrepid management is behind your back definitely helps you grow despite your shortfalls.

Two fine examples of the young players who were introduced to the game in the controlled experimental environment of Bazball are Harry Brook and Rehan Ahmed.

Harry Brook, the stripling cricketer who debuted for the three lions just a few months ago against South Africa, has received pats on his back from the cricketing fraternity for his exuberant yet mature batting throughout the Pakistan tour. His record in red-ball cricket against Pakistan is so immaculate that one would confuse Pakistan as his homeground. Although the sample size is small, which is only 5 innings, the 23-year old has played with such grit and composure that no one can question his abilities in, at least, conditions like that of Pakistan. Brook has a fabulous average of 93.41 against the men with a star emblem on their chest in Test cricket. In the 5 innings in which he batted against the green caps, he scored more than 50 runs in 4 of them and successfully converted his 50s into 100s on 3 occasions. The second discovery by the English is Rehan Ahmed. The world has been narrating the story of this prized potpourri of youth and talent named Rehan ever since news about him getting on board for the Pakistan tour was made public. The prodigy has been as amazing as was expected of him. His five wicket haul against Pakistan in the 3rd Test match of the series made headlines everywhere. Not only that, the five-fer is a proof of the magic Ahmed actually possesses and what he can grow up to be with a little polish and experience.
