Pakistan is a great place to play cricket and who wouldn’t want the opportunity to come to Pakistan: Paul Nixon

Former England international cricketer Paul Nixon has been appointed as head coach of Sindh in the impending 2022–23 domestic season in Pakistan. The stint will also include the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy as well, which begins later next week.

Paul Nixon, who coached the Jamaican Tallawahs to two CPL titles, will be the head coach of Sindh, which recently won the National T20 Cup 2022-23—their first T20 title since the inception of the new domestic system.

“Pakistan is a great place to play cricket and who wouldn’t want the opportunity to come to Pakistan. I have seen the Sindh team play so well in T20 of late. They’ve been extraordinary. Their balance between experience and youth is simply mind-blowing.”

“They have got some exciting international cricketers and some seriously talented young people coming through also. From this perspective, an exceptionally exceptional team can do extraordinary things and be chronic winners.I truly accept that they can win consistently in all formats,” said Paul Nixon on joining with Sindh.

Paul Nixon is currently working as head coach of the Leicestershire County Cricket Club and will give up the job before very long to go to Pakistan to take up the new task.

“Sarfaraz Ahmed as a leader brings calmness and experience. He is a very honest and open cricketer. Mir Hamza, who’s been over to Sussex, bowled flawlessly there in England. He is an elegant player to have in our side. Saim Ayub looks like a wonderful young left-handed batter, a very positive attacking player, which is exactly what we really want.”

“Ghulam Ali has coached the side all around well. I’m looking forward to building an incredible relationship based on trust and integrity. I’m also looking forward to learning from him as well.” added Paul Nixon.
