Bangladesh escape with a narrow win over Netherlands:

The Netherlands won the toss and decided to bowl first against Bangladesh. Najmul Hossain Shanto and Soumya Sarkar started the innings for Bangladesh.Partnership of 43 runs between these two came to and end when Paul van Meekeren got the wicket of Soumya Sarkar on a short ball and in the space of 6 balls Shanto sent back to the pavilion by Tim Pringle.

The momentum of the game shifted towards Netherlands when Liton Das and Captain Shakib-Al-Hasan got out by Logan van beek and Shariz Ahmed respectively.

5th wicket of Bangladesh fell on 76 runs and the batsman was Yasir Ali who missed the straight ball and Paul van Meekeren bowled him.

Afif Hossain and Noor Hasan made crucial partnership of 44 runs but Hasan got out by Bas de Leede. On the last ball of Leede’s over, he got another important wicket of Afif Hossain.

Mosaddek Hossain played a little cameo as he made 20 runs on 12 balls with 2 fours and 1 six and Netherlands needed 145 runs to win this match.

Meekeren was the top wicket taker for Netherlands he got 2 wickets in 4 overs with economy of 5.25.

Taskin Ahmed bowled the first over for Bangladesh, Singh and O’Dowd were on the crease. Singh was facing the first ball and Bangladesh struck on the first ball of the innings as Singh gone on a golden duck. On the next ball taskin got the wicket of Bas de leede.The score was 0/2 after the brilliant first over from Taskin.

Things were not working for Netherlands as O’Dowd got out on 8 runs. Wickets were felling quickly but Ackermann showed some fight and played a wonderful innings of 62 runs. At a point of time it looked like Bangladesh gonna win this with big margin but Meekeren scored 24 runs and brought his team close to the target.

Taskin Ahmed was magnificent with the ball today as he bowled 4 overs with economy of 6.25 with 4 wickets. He was named player of the match for his brilliant spell.

Ackermann’s innings was excellent at crucial time their ship was sinking he scored 62 runs on 48 balls with 6 fours and 2 sixes.

Bangladesh won the match by 9 runs and registered their first win of Super 12 round against Netherlands.
