Sufyan Moqim Turns Game Upside Down vs Sultans: Peshawar Zalmi’s dominant run in HBL Pakistan Super League 11 continued as they secured a convincing 24-run victory over Multan Sultans, strengthening their grip at the top of the table. With this win, Zalmi maintained their unbeaten streak and moved to 11 points in just six matches—clear signs of a side in complete control.

After being put in to bat, Zalmi built their innings around a composed yet impactful knock from Kusal Mendis, who once again proved to be the backbone of their batting lineup. His fluent strokeplay, combined with intelligent strike rotation, allowed Zalmi to post a challenging total of 196 for six.

The early momentum, however, came from Mohammad Haris, whose aggressive approach set the tone. His quickfire cameo put the Sultans on the back foot right away, forcing their bowlers to chase the game from the outset.

Following the initial burst, Zalmi’s innings briefly steadied before Mendis found an able partner in Farhan Yousaf. The pair stitched together a crucial middle-overs partnership, ensuring the innings never lost direction. Even as wickets fell at intervals, Zalmi maintained a healthy scoring rate, finishing strongly thanks to a late flourish.

Chasing 197, Multan Sultans began brightly, showing intent in the powerplay. Their top order looked threatening, especially with positive strokeplay that hinted at a competitive chase. However, the momentum shifted dramatically in the middle overs.

Sufyan Moqim turned the game on its head with a decisive spell, removing key batters in quick succession. His ability to strike at crucial moments broke the backbone of Multan’s chase, leaving them struggling to rebuild. Iftikhar Ahmed complemented him perfectly, chipping in with important wickets and tightening the screws further.

From a promising position, Multan suddenly found themselves under pressure, unable to keep up with the required rate. Despite a few resistance efforts in the middle order, the lack of sustained partnerships proved costly.

As the innings progressed, Zalmi’s bowlers maintained discipline at the death, closing out the game with confidence. The target gradually slipped out of Multan’s reach, and they eventually finished well short.

Sufyan, who has been in exceptional form throughout the tournament, once again delivered when it mattered most and was rightly named Player of the Match. His performance not only sealed the win but also reinforced his position as one of the standout bowlers of the season.

With this victory, Peshawar Zalmi continue to look like the team to beat—balanced, confident, and consistently delivering in all departments.
