Shadab Khan hits back at critique in style:

Pakistan have named their 16-men squad for the ODI series against New Zealand and Shadab Khan was not added in the list. It was because he picked up the finger injury in the ongoing edition of the Big Bash League. The injury on the index finger saw Khan being ousted both from his franchise team Hobart Hurricanes and the national side team Pakistan.

If anything, it brought Khan under the radar of the criticism as people termed him selfish for featuring in the BBL and eventually getting himself injured which saw Usama Mir replacing him in the national side. Recently, on Twitter a fan was seen taking a dig at the 24-year-old. According to the Twitter user, Khan featured in the BBL for the sake of money and because of it he got himself injured which became the reason for him to miss the three-match ODI series against the Black Caps.

Shadab Khan did not hold himself back and hit back at critique in his cool and calm style. Khan took to Twitter and replied to the fan saying that playing in the BBL helped him improve his performance in the Australian conditions. The all-rounder further said that it was due to the BBL experience that he was able to deliver up to scratch in the last edition of the T20 World Cup.

Mere BBL experience ki wajah se meri performance Australia mai achi hui world cup mai. Playing in different conditions makes u better. Jahan mai national team ke liye select hon ga wahan hamesha national team ke liye khelun ga. Allah aap ko hamesha khush rakhay. https://t.co/qO7laXIfiI

The spinner opined that playing in different conditions brings nothing but experience and maturity in one’s performance. Further he added, any player can get injured whether he is in Pakistan or Australia and his aim, as a player, is to get better by featuring in varied leagues, thereby helping the Pakistan team in return. Khan also prayed for his critique showing a big heart.

Finger injury kabhi bhi ho sakti hai. Pratice mai ball kisi ko bhi lag sakti hai chahay woh Australia ho ya Pakistan. Naye experience aur different conditions mai khel ker insaan seekhta hi hai. Aim yehi hota hai ke seekh ker Pakistan ke liye acha se acha kerein.

Shadab Khan has featured in the Big Bash League thrice and every time he joined different teams. In 2017, Khan signed with the Brisbane Heat and took six wickets in three innings. For Sydney Sixers in 2021, he took one wicket in three innings. In the ongoing edition, the 24 year old took seven wickets in five innings and scored 58 runs in five innings as part of Hobart Hurricanes.

Undoubtedly, it was the experience of BBL which came handy for the Pakistan all-rounder in the T20 World Cup as he made headlines and grabbed the man of the match award twice in the tournament. Fans should control their anger and try to understand that playing for different leagues in the world brings nothing but experience and worldliness.
