Pakistan Spinner Noman Ali Joins Lancashire for County Championship Run-In: Lancashire have strengthened their squad for the closing stages of the County Championship by signing experienced Pakistan left-arm spinner Noman Ali for the final six matches of the season.
The 39-year-old brings a wealth of international experience, having established himself as one of Pakistan’s most effective red-ball bowlers. Since making his Test debut in 2021, Noman has claimed more than 100 wickets and earned a reputation for delivering match-winning performances.

He is expected to make his Lancashire debut in the Championship fixture against Northamptonshire on 20 August, providing the side with an experienced spin option as they look to finish the campaign strongly.
Lancashire’s Director of Cricket Performance, Mark Chilton, welcomed the signing, highlighting Noman’s proven ability in first-class cricket and expressing confidence that his experience will add significant value during the crucial final weeks of the season.
Noman’s rise to international cricket has been an unusual one. He made his Test debut at the age of 34 and immediately impressed by taking a five-wicket haul against South Africa. Since then, he has continued to deliver important performances for Pakistan, including a memorable display against England in 2024, when he took nine wickets in the decisive Test to help Pakistan secure the series.
His arrival is expected to boost Lancashire’s bowling attack as the club aims for a strong finish in the County Championship, while also giving supporters the opportunity to watch one of Pakistan’s most experienced Test spinners in county cricket.
