England Suffer Big defeat after World T20 triumph:
After the conclusion of the T20 World Cup in Australia, the cricket action has resumed in the face of bilaterals.
Currently, England team is in Australia to feature in the three-match ODI series. The first game was recently-concluded with Australia winning the game by six wickets with 19 balls to spare.
The toss was won by the host side, who asked England to bat first. England had a woeful start as they were reduced to 4 down for just 66.
Nevertheless, Dawid Malan was the man who resurrected the scoreboard of his side. Malan struck 134 off 128 deliveries. The heroics of Malan guided his side to a respectable total of 287.
Malan’s knock was laced with 12 boundaries and four gigantic sixes.
Besides Malan, skipper Jos Buttler and David Willey chipped in with 29 and 34 runs, respectively.
For Australia, skipper Pat Cummins and Adam Zampa took three wickets apiece while Mitchell Starc and Marcus Stoinis returned with one wicket, respectively.
Unlickily for the English, these runs weren’t enough as the Australian side were too good from the get go.

The openers David Warner and Travis Head provided a vital start to their side. Both of the openers struck half-centuries and returned with the individual scores of 86 and 69, respectively.
The stand of 147 runs between the openers was aptly carried by Steve Smith. The right-handed batsman remained unbeaten on 80 – making sure his side end up clinching a lead in a three-match ODI series.
England bowlers had a tough day as they could only scalp four wickets with Willey picking up two. Chris Jordan and Liam Dawson took one wicket apiece.
The Kangaroos achieved the given target in 46.5 overs. Dawid Malan was adjudged player of the match for his magnificent knock albeit it ended in a losing cause.
