Classy Youngster Naseem Shah achieves yet another unique feat in 2022:
Google, the famous search engine, shared its ‘Year of Search’ overview a day ago which showed the search trends throughout the year both globally as well as country wise. While many famous personalities got featured in the list where top-searched personalities were included, Pakistan’s young pacer Naseem Shah topped the charts.
Naseem Shah, who led Pakistan’s pace attack along with Haris Rauf in the absence of Shaheen Shah Afridi in Asia cup 2022 and the T20 World cup build up England and Tri-nation series, is one of the youngest members of Pakistan’s team. At just the age of 16 years on his debut, he shocked the world with swing and speed. The young pacer was phenomenal throughout both the mega events, Asia cup and T20 World cup, as well. His two sixes on last balls against Afghanistan which steered the men in green to the final of the Asia Cup, which was Naseem’s maiden tournament, saw his guts and intent being compared to that of the legends of the game Shahid Afridi and Javed Miandad.
Just recently, his hoping-against-the-hope spell against the English team in the final of the T20 World Cup dropped the jaws of many big names of the game throughout the World.
This overview also represented how the lives of common people in Pakistan revolve around Cricket. A country struck by a lethal flood just a few months ago with political turmoil lurking still in its streets, people turn to cricket to get their daily dose of serotonin. As expected, a number of top searches were related to cricket. Funnily, Melbourne’s weather was one of the top searches in the country too, a place where two marquee matches of Pakistan in the T20 World Cup took place including the encounter against India and the final against England.
Other Cricketers who were Googled the most according to the list in 2022 are Mohammad Rizwan, Shadab Khan and Iftikhar Ahmed.
