PCB confirms England’s Test visit to Pakistan:
The Pakistan Cricket Board today announced the dates of England’s December three-test trip to Pakistan. Following seven Twenty20 Internationals in Karachi and Lahore from September 20 to October 2, this will be England’s second portion of the tour.
The first Test for Ben Stokes’ team will take place in Rawalpindi from December 1–5, followed by a second Test in Multan from December 9–13. The third Test will be held in Karachi from December 17–21.
There have been 12 previous matches at Rawalpindi, with the home team winning five and losing three. This will be England’s first Test match there. The Multan Test was a 22-run loss for England during their previous visit to Pakistan in 2005. Five Test matches have taken place there, with Pakistan winning three and losing one.
Previous to Nasser Hussain’s team ending Pakistan’s 34-match unbeaten streak in 2000, when they won the third Test by 6 wickets in nearly complete darkness, National Stadium was regarded as the country’s happiest hunting field. In 44 games played in Karachi, Pakistan only suffered one other defeat, to South Africa, which took the 2007 Test by a score of 160 runs. However, the National Stadium continues to be Pakistan’s preferred Test venue thanks to its 23 victories.
“We are happy that the Test rivalry between Pakistan and England, which has historically produced close and competitive matches, will return to our backyards in December,” said Zakir Khan, PCB Director of International Cricket. Since their last match in Pakistan in 2005, both teams have improved, and they have recently been playing entertaining and thrilling cricket. I’m still sure that this series will meet the demands of cricket fans around the world who want to watch and enjoy competitive and exciting matches. To watch top England players in action has been a nearly 17-year wait for Pakistani cricket fans. Nation versus nation Test cricket is the apex where worldwide stars and heroes are born, despite the fact that they have enjoyed witnessing some of them live in recent seasons of the HBL Pakistan Super League.

“The return of our men’s Test team to Pakistan for the first time since 2005 will be a historic occasion,” said Clare Connor, interim chief executive officer of the ECB. After such a long time, it is an honor to have the chance to play Test cricket in Pakistan in front of ardent cricket supporters.
We have been collaborating closely with the PCB in recent months, and I am appreciative of all they have done — and are still doing — to make our Test and T20 tours enticing for everyone.
The three Tests will be included in the ICC World Test Championship for the years 2021–2023. On the Test Championship table, No. 4 ranked England is now in seventh place, while No. 6 ranked Pakistan is in fifth.
