West Indies End 34-Year Wait with Test Win in Pakistan: In a stunning display of resilience and skill, the West Indies secured their first Test win in Pakistan since 1990, defeating the hosts by 120 runs in the second match of the two-Test series in Multan on Monday. The victory ensured the series ended in a 1-1 draw, with Pakistan having claimed the first Test by 127 runs.

Resuming their chase of 178 runs on the third day at 76-4, Pakistan faced an uphill battle. Hopes of a successful chase were dashed early when Kevin Sinclair and Jomel Warrican struck in quick succession. Saud Shakeel (13) and Kashif Ali (1) were dismissed cheaply, leaving Pakistan reeling at 83-6.

The pressure mounted as Mohammad Rizwan tried to anchor the innings. Rizwan’s valiant effort, scoring 25 runs off 62 balls, offered a glimmer of hope. However, Warrican dismissed him in the 42nd over, effectively extinguishing Pakistan’s chances. The left-arm spinner was the standout bowler for the visitors, taking a remarkable five-wicket haul in the second innings.

The West Indies bowlers exhibited exceptional discipline and skill throughout the innings. Reduced to 122-8, Pakistan’s resistance came to an end when Gudakesh Motie removed Noman Ali. Warrican capped off a memorable performance by dismissing Sajid Khan, sealing the victory.

Warrican’s bowling figures were the highlight of the match. His ability to extract turn and bounce on the Multan pitch proved pivotal. Kevin Sinclair and Gudakesh Motie provided excellent support, chipping in with crucial wickets at key moments.

The result marked a significant achievement for the West Indies, breaking a 33-year drought of Test wins in Pakistan. The series showcased moments of brilliance from both sides. Pakistan’s commanding win in the first Test set the tone, but the West Indies’ spirited comeback in the second match demonstrated their determination and depth.

For Pakistan, the series highlighted both their strengths and vulnerabilities. While the first Test victory underscored their ability to dominate, the second match exposed weaknesses in their batting lineup under pressure.

The drawn series serves as a confidence booster for the West Indies as they continue to rebuild their Test credentials. For Pakistan, it offers an opportunity to reflect and address inconsistencies ahead of future challenges.

Cricket fans will undoubtedly remember this series for its dramatic swings and the historic achievement of the West Indies in breaking a long-standing drought on Pakistani soil.
