Wasim Jr. Eyes Strong Comeback in Pakistan’s ODI Series Against New Zealand: LAHORE: Pakistan’s all-rounder Mohammad Wasim Jr. is gearing up for a comeback to the national One-Day International (ODI) squad after recovering from an injury. As he prepares for the upcoming series against New Zealand, Wasim opened up about the challenges he expects to face and his determination to make a strong return.
Speaking to reporters ahead of the ODI series, Wasim admitted that returning to top form after an injury is no easy task. “Coming back from an injury is always a bit tough, and I know it won’t be a walk in the park. But I’m ready to give it my all and perform to the best of my ability,” he shared.
When the conversation shifted to the T20I series, Wasim made it clear that his focus remains firmly on the ODIs. “Right now, my mind is set on the ODI matches. The T20 team has its own dynamics, and they’ll handle their side of things,” he said.
Wasim also touched on the absence of key players like Shaheen Afridi and Haris Rauf, acknowledging their impact on the team. “Having experienced players like Shaheen and Haris around always makes a difference. We’ll definitely miss their presence, but it’s also an opportunity for others to step up,” he added.

Looking ahead to the conditions in New Zealand, Wasim seemed optimistic about the opportunities for fast bowlers. “The pitches in New Zealand are usually fast-bowler friendly, and I’m looking forward to making the most of it. I’m determined to put in a solid performance and contribute to the team’s success,” he said with confidence.
Pakistan’s recent form has been a mixed bag, with the team struggling in the ongoing T20I series against New Zealand, losing the first two matches by significant margins. However, the focus now shifts to the three-match ODI series, which begins on March 29. The second ODI is scheduled for April 2 in Hamilton, followed by the final match on April 5 in Mount Maunganui.
