Pakistan Qualifies for Semi Final after a 5 wicket victory over Bangladesh:
Bangladesh and Pakistan were eyeing a semi-final spot in the 2nd last group stage match of this year’s World T20. This game was a must win match for both teams. Bangladesh won the toss and decided to bat first against Pakistan.
The Star of the last match Liton Das was dismissed early as Shaheen Afridi got his wicket. Shadab Khan broke the 52 runs Partnership between Soumya Sarkar and Najmul Hossain Shanto. Soumya Sarkar tried a reverse sweep but Shan took the catch.
On the next ball, Pakistan got another huge wicket. Shadab dismissed Shakib ul Hassan, he took the review but the third umpire declared him out. Shakib wasn’t happy with this decision as he walked off.
Mosaddek Hossain, Nurul Hasan Taskin Ahmed, and Nasum Ahmed didn’t enter in double figures. Pakistan made a strong comeback after 10 overs. Pakistan needed 128 runs to qualify for Semi-final.
Shaheen Afridi and Haris Rauf were impressive with the ball. Shadab also got important wickets at crucial time and Iftikhar got much needed wicket of Shanto who was playing good. It was yet another brilliant bowling display from Pakistani bowlers.
The opening stand of Pakistan was struggling to score runs . They scored 57 off 63 balls with the slow scoring rate of 5.42.
The innings of Mohammad Haris helped them to qualify for Semi-final. The talented young batter scored 31 runs on 18 balls.
Shan Masood provided him good support. Pakistan won the match by 5 wickets and Qualified for Semi-final.
Shaheen Afridi was named play of the match for his brilliant spell as he got 4 wickets in 4 overs.
