Mathew Mott adds yet another trophy to his World Cup titles:
In the modern T20 cricket, one needs a lot of ingredients to get settled in. Besides having a talented pool of players, one must have great minds to nourish the players and tackle their problems.
One such name who has notched up massive achievements in the world of cricket is Matthew Mott.
The former Australian player is quickly establishing himself as one of the successful coaches in the white-ball cricket.
During his stint with the Australian women, he shaped up the talented squad of the team. During his time, the Australian women became a force to reckon with. The Kangaroos ended up winning the two titles in the T20 World Cup, one ODI World Cup, three Ashes series, and two Women’s Championship.
However, this time Mott was with a different team but he achieved the same feat. On Sunday, when England edged Pakistan in a T20 World Cup final, Mott helped his team win the world cup which was the coach’s fourth World Cup title in four years.
The newly-appointed England skipper Jos Buttler also hailed Mott and opined that his partnership with his coach will come handy in the upcoming ICC events.
“With Matthew Mott we can hopefully shape the next era of English white-ball cricket,” Buttler told reporters at the MCG on Saturday.
Mott was also delighted to win second World Cup in a single year.
“It‘s very special,” Mott said after Sunday’s victory.
“You never like to compare any of them, they‘re all equally fun, and great but I’m going to really enjoy tonight with the boys”.
Mott’s next assignment with England team is a three-match ODI series against Australia which will begin from Thursday at Adelaide Oval.
