RR’s IPL 2025 Nightmare: 3 Chokes in a Row | The Rajasthan Royals (RR) have become the masters of snatching defeat from the jaws of victory, suffering their third consecutive collapse in IPL 2025. What was once a team known for its fighting spirit has now turned into a side that crumbles under pressure, leaving fans frustrated and furious.

Another Chase, Another Bottle Job

In their latest disaster, RR failed to chase down 206 against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) despite being in control for most of the innings. On paper, 194/9 in a 206-run chase doesn’t seem terrible, but the context tells a far more painful story. With just 18 needed off the last 12 balls and four wickets in hand, Rajasthan imploded spectacularly. Wickets tumbled, panic set in, and what should have been a comfortable win turned into yet another humiliating defeat.

Josh Hazlewood (4/33) was brilliant with the ball, but RR’s self-destruction made his job much easier. Dhruv Jurel’s dismissal at a crucial moment triggered a domino effect, exposing the team’s inability to handle pressure.

A Pattern of Pain

This isn’t an isolated incident—it’s the third time in a row that Rajasthan has choked from a winning position:

  • vs Delhi : Needed 9 off 6 – Lost
  • vs Lucknow: Needed 9 off 6 – Lost
  • vs Bangalore: Needed 18 off 12 – Collapsed again

Fans have run out of patience, flooding social media with memes, rants, and accusations of RR being a “fraud franchise.” The criticism is harsh but justified—how does a team repeatedly fail in near-identical situations?

Riyan Parag, who took over the captaincy this season, showed promise with a quick 22 off 10, but his leadership in crunch moments is now under scrutiny. The team’s decision-making in high-pressure scenarios has been questionable, raising doubts over whether Parag is the right man to lead.

With just two wins in nine matches, Rajasthan’s playoff hopes are hanging by a thread. Their next match against Gujarat Titans on April 28 in Jaipur is a must-win, but given their recent form, confidence is at an all-time low.

The Royals need more than just a tactical fix—they need a mental reset. Whether it’s poor shot selection, nervous running between wickets, or a lack of composure in the death overs, RR’s issues run deep. If they don’t turn things around quickly, this season could go down as one of their most disappointing campaigns yet.
