Rising England Mystery Leg Spinner Rehan Ahmed Signed for UAE’s ILT20 League:

The 18-year-old rising mystery leg spinner from England, Rehan Ahmed, will be joining the franchise Gulf Giants for the first season of UAE’s ILT20 league.

The teenager has had a remarkable rise over the years. He already has big wickets to his name as he took part in an England nets session at just 13-years-old and bowled Ben Stokes, Joe Root and Sir Alastair Cook. Rehan has had a magnificent year which began when he represented England U19 at the Under-19 World Cup earlier this year, taking 12 wickets in four games at an average of 12.58 and a low economy of just 4.19. He was crucial to England Under-19s World Cup Final run in 2022, taking four wickets in three consecutive matches as the nation narrowly missed out on the title. His amazing performances meant that he finished the tournament as the best bowler of England U19.

He then had an impressive T20 Blast campaign with Leicestershire, taking 19 wickets at an average of 20.15 in the group stages – the most of any right-arm leg-spinner, with his displays in the competition earning him his England Lions call-up.

He was one of two wrist spinners named in the England Lions squad which faced South Africa in two 50-over warm-up matches last month. He made his England Lions debut and played in the first game where he picked up an impressive 3-54 as he dismissed senior batters such as the likes of Aiden Markram, Rassie van der Dussen and Janneman Malan.

He is currently playing for Southern Brave in the Hundred and has now been signed by the franchise Gulf Giants for the first season of the upcoming UAE’s ILT20 league. He could be incredibly successful in the UAE, as the pitches there are often known to help spinners.

Rehan, at such a young age, has been so successful as he is amongst the leading contenders who remain in contention for a national side debut soon. In addition, the mystery leg spinner is in high demand in T20 leagues across the world and is surely someone to look out for as a future star as he  will definitely excel furthur and furthur in his career as he gets more and more oppurtunities to play around the world in the future.
