Sindh, Central Punjab, Southern Punjab, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa were confirmed as semi-finalists of the Women’s U19 T20 Cup:
The semi-final draw was determined on Friday, with Southern Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa joining Sindh and Central Punjab, who both finished the group round unbeaten.
The semifinal matches will be played tomorrow (Saturday) at the Lahore Country Club.
Sindh has now won three of the completed matches:
Aroob and Anoosha help Sindh win by 32 runs. Anoosha Nasir’s 40 not out off 38 balls helped Sindh, whose captain Arooba Shah chose to bat against Khyber Pakhtunkhwa at the Lahore Country Club, reach a total of 97 for 8. With four fours, Anoosha was the only fighter in the lineup; Wasafa Hussain’s 8 off 39 was the next-best score.
Tehzeeb Shah of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa demolished Sindh’s batting by taking four wickets.
However, player of the game Aroob took the initiative when her team came out to defend the modest target, and her five for six bowling statistics helped the leg-spinner dismiss the opponents for just 65 in 17.3 overs. Haniah Ahmer and Dina Razvi claimed 2 wickets, each 11 or 10 runs.
The unbeaten streak of Central Punjab continues:
Central Punjab defeated Balochistan with a lot of ease, scoring the required 29 runs in only 13 balls. No Balochistan batter could reach double digits as Rida Aslam, the player of the match, grabbed 3 wickets for 5 runs and Quratulain returned 2 for 4.
Shawal Zulfiqar, the captain of Central Punjab, and Eyman Fatima hit 14 and 16 runs respectively as openers to help their team secure a further 10-wicket victory.
