PCB Bans Corbin Bosch for Choosing IPL 2025 Over PSL X: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has enforced a one-year suspension on South African all-rounder Corbin Bosch following his late withdrawal from the Pakistan Super League (PSL) Season 10 to join the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. The board also levied a financial penalty, barring Bosch from participating in PSL 2026.
Originally selected by Peshawar Zalmi in the Diamond Category for PSL 10, Bosch exited the tournament after securing a replacement deal with Mumbai Indians (MI) for the injured Lizaad Williams. His abrupt departure left the PSL franchise in a difficult position, prompting the PCB to take disciplinary action in line with its policy against players prioritizing other leagues over PSL commitments.
In response, the PCB replaced Bosch in Zalmi’s squad with Australia’s Mitchell Owen. The South African cricketer publicly addressed the situation, stating:
“I sincerely apologize to the PCB, Peshawar Zalmi, and the passionate fans of Pakistani cricket for my withdrawal from the HBL PSL. I recognize the significance of this tournament and fully respect the board’s decision regarding my ban. I will use this time to reflect and hope to have the opportunity to contribute to the league in the future.”

Despite the controversy, Bosch remains with Mumbai Indians for IPL 2025, though he has yet to feature in the playing XI. His performance in the IPL could shape his prospects in other leagues, including a potential PSL return post-ban.
The PCB’s firm stance underscores its commitment to upholding the integrity of the PSL and deterring last-minute withdrawals that disrupt team preparations. While Bosch’s immediate future in the PSL is on hold, his case serves as a reminder of the contractual obligations players bear in franchise cricket’s evolving landscape.
