The inauguration ceremony saw the presence of Governor Sindh Kamran Tessori, Chief Minister Sindh Murad Ali Shah, Mayor Karachi Murtaza Wahab, and Federal Minister Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, among other dignitaries. Adding to the significance of the event, members of Pakistan’s cricket squad, currently participating in a tri-nation ODI series, also graced the occasion, further elevating the excitement among fans.

Nearly 5,000 workers dedicated their efforts to transform the stadium into a world-class venue, which is now fully operational and ready to host the ongoing tri-nation ODI series and the upcoming Champions Trophy.
Speaking at the ceremony, Naqvi emphasized the significance of the project, stating, “The National Bank Stadium, which last saw a major renovation during the 1996 World Cup, now stands as a world-class facility. It will not only host domestic and international matches but also provide players and fans with a top-tier experience.”
The newly upgraded stadium is set to host two matches of the ongoing tri-nation ODI series, featuring Pakistan, New Zealand, and South Africa, on February 12 and 14. Additionally, it will be the venue for three high-profile matches of the Champions Trophy 2025, including the tournament opener between Pakistan and New Zealand on February 19.
