Major PSL 11 Upgrade List Revealed Ahead of Auction: The Pakistan Cricket Board has confirmed the player category renewals for 89 local cricketers ahead of the 11th season of the HBL Pakistan Super League. As part of the update, five players — Pakistan’s T20I captain Salman Ali Agha, Sahibzada Farhan, Mohammad Nawaz, Hasan Ali, and Abrar Ahmed — have earned promotion to the Platinum category.
Under the updated rules, each PSL franchise will be allowed to retain up to four players, with only one retention permitted per category. Once the retention process is completed, teams will finalize their squads through the first-ever HBL PSL Player Auction, scheduled for Wednesday, 11 February.
Among the newly promoted Platinum players, Sahibzada Farhan previously featured in the Gold category, while the remaining four have moved up from Diamond.
Several big-name players have successfully retained their Platinum status after featuring in the same category during the previous PSL season. These include Shadab Khan, Naseem Shah, Imad Wasim, Shaheen Shah Afridi, Fakhar Zaman, Haris Rauf, Babar Azam, Saim Ayub, Mohammad Rizwan, Faheem Ashraf, and Mohammad Amir.
The Diamond category now consists of 11 players, with representation spread across franchises. Quetta Gladiators and Multan Sultans lead with three players each, while Lahore Qalandars and Karachi Kings have two players apiece. Peshawar Zalmi have one player in Diamond, while Islamabad United have none. Mohammad Salman Mirza, Sufyan Moqim, and Mohammad Wasim Jr are the notable names promoted from Gold to Diamond.

A total of 32 players have been placed in the Gold category, with Karachi Kings holding the highest number at eight. Islamabad United and Lahore Qalandars each have four Gold players, Peshawar Zalmi have six, while Multan Sultans and Quetta Gladiators have five each.
In the Silver category, Multan Sultans lead with seven players. Lahore Qalandars follow with three, Islamabad United and Peshawar Zalmi have two each, while Quetta Gladiators and Karachi Kings have one player each.
The Emerging category features 14 players, with Islamabad United, Karachi Kings, and Peshawar Zalmi naming three players each. Quetta Gladiators and Multan Sultans have two apiece, while Lahore Qalandars have one. Players such as Hunain Shah, Ubaid Shah, Mirza Mamoon Imtiaz, Mohammad Naeem, and Mohammad Azab have moved up from Emerging to Silver, while Hasan Nawaz has earned a Gold contract after featuring as an Emerging player last season.
