Zimbabwe Launches a new T10 franchise tournament:
Zimbabwe Cricket (ZC) has partnered with T10 Global Sports to introduce a franchise-based T10 tournament, which is set to attract cricket stars from all over the world. The opening of the new competition which is named the Zim Afro T10, will feature six privately-owned teams and is scheduled to be held in August of this year. Details such as the participating franchises, player auction dates, and fixtures are yet to be disclosed. T10 Global Sports, the organization behind the Abu Dhabi T10 in the UAE and the Lanka 10 in Sri Lanka, has established this new T10 tournament.
“We are thrilled to unveil our own franchise-based T10 league, a powerful format that we believe is exactly what our changing, fast-paced world needs right now,” Mr Mukuhlani said.
During the media conference held in Harare on Friday, ZC Chairman Tavengwa Mukuhlani declared the launch of the Zim Afro T10 and expressed his belief that the league will be a source of excellent entertainment for fans, high-level competition for players, and extensive exposure for investors.

“As our association with cricket continues to grow, we are delighted to bring to Zimbabwe an exciting format that will not only advance the reach, attractiveness and growth of the sport but will also present a massive opportunity for private investment into the franchises,” Mr Mulkuhlani told the press.
Mr. Nawab Shaji Ul Mulk, the founder and chairman of T10 Global Sports and an investor based in the UAE, expressed his enthusiasm for bringing the excitement of T10 cricket to Zimbabwe. He is also behind the development of the Zim Cyber-City real estate project, a cutting-edge project being developed in Mount Hampden on the outskirts of Harare.
