Top Story: PCB Chief to Handover Cricket Affairs to Ex Pakistan Captain: The Chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), Mohsin Naqvi, has decided to delegate cricket-related responsibilities to former captain Waqar Younis.
Media sources indicate that while Mohsin Naqvi will manage the administrative side, a cricketer will be in charge of all cricket decisions.
The cricketer will handle decisions concerning international and domestic matches, the selection committee, and players’ No Objection Certificates (NOCs). Meanwhile, Chairman Naqvi will concentrate on administration.
Reports also reveal that Naqvi’s main objective is to oversee the organization of the Champions Trophy.
Additionally, plans are in place to promote Waqar Younis to a senior role within the PCB, where he will manage men’s cricket affairs.
As per the PCB Constitution of 2014, the Chairman holds the power to delegate responsibilities to others.
Waqar Younis will be responsible for all aspects related to the national team, including the National Selection Committee and the coaches for both white ball and red ball formats.
According to media reports, PCB Chairman Naqvi aims to include experienced cricketers in key cricket-related decisions.
