The “SA20” previously known as the CSAT20 league is set to be played in January-February 2023 and will be played with six teams which are all owned by groups that also own teams in the IPL.
The auction event for the upcoming first season of the SA20 is set to feature 318 players including international stars and will take place on 19th of September.
How would it work?
The six franchises have signed between two and five players already before the auctions as pre signings and can have a maximum of 17 players in their line-up.23 players have already been pre-signed by the franchises, and the teams will have a remaining salary budget of R34million ($2m) for the auction.

The auction list includes 318 players from around the world at different base prices. A major shock which comes ahead of this auction is that no player from Pakistan can be seen in the auction list and no one from Pakistan was pre signed, and therefore it can be said that no Pakistani players will be seen in action in the SA20.
The list features many local South African players as well as 13 players from Afghanistan, 2 from Australia, 54 English players, 7 from Ireland, 4 New Zealanders, 30 Sri Lankans and 31 from West Indies.
