Rest in Peace Pakistan Cricket? Rashid Latif’s awkward statement:
Seems like controversies, and Cricket in Pakistan have a particular connection as both go arm in arm. Once again, the Pakistan Cricket Board is in the spotlight. It all took place after the Pakistan Cricket Board announced their squad for their upcoming T20 series against Afghanistan.
PCB decided to omit, some big names like Babar Azam, Mohammad Rizwan, Shaheen Afridi, Haris Rauf, and Fakhar Zaman from the team and add a few youngsters who shone in Pakistan Super League 2023. Players like Saim Ayub, Ihsan Ullah, Haseebullah Khan, Zaman Khan, and Tayyab Tahir were added to the squad with Shadab Khan appointed as the Captain.
The Former Pakistani cricketer, Rashid Latif, could not resist the changes. Rashid slammed the new PCB regime, led by Najam Sethi and PCB’s Chief Selector Haroon Rasheed by his side. The Senior cricketer alleged them of playing with Pakistani team’s balance and combinations.
Rashid Latif stated: “When you bring new players, you break a team combination. Some new players, who are selected, will perform in the Afghanistan series, so will they bring back the senior players with lesser strike rates? Media will also put pressure on them. This is the first step towards destroying the Pakistan team.”

Latif also slammed PCB for using old tactics and outdated people for deciding the outlook of Pakistan’s cricket team.
”Our players are featured in ICC rankings and winning awards after a long time. Babar and Shaheen won ICC awards. They [PCB] couldn’t digest it. They said we won’t let it happen and now we are here and will take decisions. Those who never took rest and are 70 or 80 years old and need to rest are now deciding the fate of Pakistan cricket. You can say rest in peace Pakistan team. Our team is now resting in peace.”
