So, a big night for a quite number of people in Houston as 54 selections were made all together to help the six Major League franchises configure their local players. The inaugural edition of the Major League Cricket shall be kicked off on July 13 this year. There are six teams in total as mentioned before, four out of which are either partly or totally owned by the existing Indian Premier League (IPL) franchises.
Kolkata Knight Riders were one of the first investors in the tournament, and they own the Los Angeles (LA) based team, while Mumbai Indians will be solely responsible for the New York-based franchise. Dehli Capitals have joined hands with Satya Nadella and will co-own the Seattle-based franchise. The fourth IPL team to have a stake in the MLC is Chennai Super Kings, who will also co-own the Texas-based franchise.
The other two teams – one based out of Washington DC and the other out of San Francisco – are owned by local American investors.
The player draft happened on 19 March in the USA.

The Los Angeles Knight Riders have picked Ali Khan, Unmukt Chand, Jaskaran Malhotra, Nitish Kumar, Corne Dry, Ali Sheikh, Saif Badar, Shadley Van Schalhywh, and Bhaskar Yadram.
Quinton de Kock, Mitchell Marsh, Harmeet Singh, Shehan Jayasuriya, Shubham Ranjani, Cameron Gannon, Aaron Jones, Nauman Anwar, Phani Simhadri, Angelo Perera, and Matthew Tromp were included in the Seattle Orcas.
MI New York gathered up these players; Steven Taylor, Hammad Azam, Ehsan Adil, Nosthush Henjige, Monank Patel, Sarbjeet Ladda, Shayan Jahangir, Usman Rafiq, and Saideep Ganesh.
Team Texas enjoyed picking up Rusty Theron, Calvin Savage, Lahiru Milantaha, Milind Kumar, Sami Aslam, Cameron Stevenson, Cody Chetty, Zia Shahzad, and Saiteja Mukamalla.
Anrich Nortje, Wanindu Hasaranga, Andries Gous, Mukhtar Ahmed, Obus Pienaar, Saurabh Netravalhar, Saad Ali, Dane Piedt, and Sujith Gowda, Justin Dill, Akhilesh Bodugum were added to Washington Freedom.
The San Francisco Unicorns picked up Aaron Finch, Marcus Stoinis, Corey Anderson, Liam Plunkett, Tajinder Singh, Chaitanya Bishnoi, Carmi Le Roux, Brody Couch, David White, Smit Patel, and Sanjay Krishnamurthi.
