Ireland women are excited to travel to Pakistan for the first time:
Ireland women’s cricket team is all set to face Pakistan. They will play for the first time in Pakistan. They will do four days of practice from 31 October to 4th November before their ODI series.
Although both teams have participated in international cricket for 60 years, this will be Ireland’s first senior men or women side to play in Pakistan. Both teams competed in their first international game at the 1997 Women’s World Cup, with the Irish team coming out on top by 182 runs.
The most recent match took place at the 2018 ICC Women’s T20 World Cup, and the Pakistan women prevailed by 38 runs. Ireland women played 33 matches with Pakistan Women. The Irish team won 9 matches against Pakistan.Irish team is visiting Pakistan for three ICC Women’s Championship 2022-25 matches as well as three T20 Internationals.
The Irish team is excited about their historic visit to Pakistan. Ireland’s captain Laura Delany said: “We couldn’t have asked for a better start to 2022, following the announcement of full-time contracts. It’s going to be a busy summer for us, and we’re looking forward to playing Pakistan away from home. The squad has never visited Pakistan before, but with qualification for the ICC Women’s Championship, we now have the opportunity to do so, which will undoubtedly be a good challenge. As we have not played in Asian conditions for several years due to COVID-19, this will be an invaluable opportunity for this young squad as we will be playing more regularly in this part of the world in the future”.

Pakistan’s Captain Bismah Maroof shared her thoughts: “We are all up for an exciting series against Ireland. The series will help us in attracting new fans to the women’s game. The series will provide an opportunity for young cricketers to upskill themselves as per the demands of international cricket.”

Louise Little, Celeste Raack return back for Ireland, While Rachel Delaney was only a part of the ODI team and Sophie MacMahon was only a part of the T20I team, Georgina Dempsey was unable to gain a spot in either squad.
