How Many More Records Can Virat Kohli Break? Shoaib Akhtar Weighs In
Pakistani legend Shoaib Akhtar praised Virat Kohli in a recent interview session. The speedster is of the view that Virat is capable enough of breaking Sachin Tendulkar’s record of most centuries in ODI and Test cricket. He also advised that the 34-year-old star should prioritize ODIs over T-20s for international appearances.
“As a cricketer, if you ask me, I feel he should stick with only Test and ODI formats.T20I format drains a lot of his energy. He is a very excited kind of character,” Akhtar told in the interview.
Virat was recently seen in the 3-match ODI series against Australia which ended just yesterday. Though India lost the series by a margin of 2-1, Virat’s performance is commendable. The star managed to score 54 off 74 balls in the final at the Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.
Shoaib Akhtar believes that Virat can easily play international cricket for 6-8 years. He is fit and energetic enough to establish more records.
Talking to Sports Tak, he further added,“He wants to be out there, he wants to look good. He wants to have a good time in T20Is. He likes it. But at times, he needs to save his body. How old is he right now? 34 right? Easily he can play for about 6 to 8 years. If he plays 30-50 more Test matches, I’m sure it won’t be difficult for him to score 25 centuries in those Test matches.”
