Andy Flower backs the idea of Shan Masood as a captain:
Former Zimbabwean cricketer, Andy Flower who is currently in Dubai as he is coaching the Gulf Giants in the ILT20, while talking to media praised Pakistan batter Shan Masood for his growth as a white-ball cricketer.
The former Zimbabwean captain, who has also coached Multan Sultans in the Pakistan Super League, when asked to share his view on Shan replacing Babar Azam as the captain in ODIs, said that the Southpaw is a good option to consider to fill the Captaincy position in the team.
“I think Shan Masood is a superb cricketer and his white ball confidence and white ball skills have grown tremendously over the last few years because of the exposure in PSL and also he has sort out cricket in England as well,” He further added, “He has definitely grown his confidence. I think, he is really good captain, I have worked with him as a captain, he is outstanding young man and I don’t know what are the options available in Pakistan but as far as Shan is concerned, he is a solid man,”

The former Wicket-keeper batter also praised Pakistan’s skipper Babar Azam for his exceptional batting abilities.
“I rate Babar Azam very highly in all the formats, he has been a superb T20 cricketer, it depends how Pakistani selectors see it and I just think he is a superb cricketer and adds to any XI he is picked in.”
It is pertinent to mention that many reports are claiming that the new management at the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is planning to replace Babar Azam as a Captain in ODIs and Tests with Shan Masood and Sarfaraz Ahmed respectively. This has sparked many debates among the cricket fans in Pakistan but any official statement from the Board has not yet been released in this regard.
