Glenn Maxwell Announces himself in PSL as Hyderabad Kingsmen win 2/2: Australian all-rounder and “The Big Show” Glenn Maxwell arrived at the HBL Pakistan Super League in grand style. In his 2nd PSL Match today, Maxwell played a finishing cameo, striking two maximums off Imad Wasim to score 22(9)* as Hyderabad Kingsmen defeated Islamabad United for their second consecutive win of the tournament.
In the 21st match of the HBL Pakistan Super League, Islamabad United set a target of 154 for Hyderabad Kingsmen. Skipper Marnus Labushagne led the chase with an important half-century, guiding his side to a six-wicket victory as they reached the target in the 19th over. This marked Hyderabad Kingsmen’s second consecutive win, having defeated Karachi Kings and Islamabad United on the trot.
Maxwell also completed 11,000 runs in T20 cricket during the match, adding a personal milestone to the team’s success. He made his presence felt with an all-round performance, taking 1 for 21 in his 4-over spell with the ball and contributing a crucial cameo with the bat to seal the win.

The game was particularly significant for Hyderabad Kingsmen, as Saim Ayub showed signs of regaining form with the bat, while Marnus Labuschagne scored his first half-century in the tournament. Other notable contributions came from Maaz Sadaqat (30 off 16), and Asif Mehmood, who took 4/18.
In the same match, Faheem Ashraf also completed the milestone of 100 PSL wickets. He became the 4th pacer and 5th overall to achieve this monumental feat.
This defeat applied brakes to Islamabad United’s winning spree. They had won their last 3 matches in comprehensive style. They defeated Quetta by 8 wickets, Pindiz by 7 Wickets, and they ran over Qalandars by 9 wickets. Interestingly, both defeats for Islamabad United came while defending a total. In their opening match, they could not defend 172 against Multan and now they failed to defend 154 against Hyderabad Kingsmen.
