Day 1 of Pakistan-Bangladesh Second Test Washed Out

Day 1 of Pakistan-Bangladesh Second Test Washed Out: The opening day’s play of the second Test between Pakistan and Bangladesh at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium was completely washed out on Friday due to incessant rain and a wet outfield. Continuous downpours prevented the toss from taking place, and after an inspection around noon, the umpires decided to call off the day’s proceedings.

After a disappointing 10-wicket defeat in the first Test at the same venue, Pakistan was eager to bounce back and level the two-match series. However, the inclement weather prevented any play, and with more rain forecasted later in the day, the chances of a delayed start were all but extinguished.

In response to their all-pace attack’s failure in the opening test, Pakistan made a significant change to their lineup by including leg-spinner Abrar Ahmed, while fast bowler Shaheen Afridi was left out of the playing XI. The decision reflects Pakistan’s intent to adapt to the conditions and rectify their mistakes from the previous match.

As the weather continues to play spoilsport, both teams will be anxiously waiting for conditions to improve to get some play underway and set the tone for the rest of the Test. The weather forecast suggests further rain interruptions, raising concerns about how much play will be possible over the remaining days of the match.
