For the forthcoming auctions, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) reportedly plans to place a “shadow ban” on players from Bangladesh and Sri Lanka. This is because players from these two nations are expected to miss the IPL 2023 opening games due to obligations to their national teams.

Bangladesh players are playing in their ongoing home series against Ireland while Sri Lanka is currently competing in Test cricket against New Zealand.
The BCCI and the franchises are enraged by this and are set to impose shadow ban on players from the two nations.

According to rumors, the BCCI is especially displeased with the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) and Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) for failing to promptly release the NOCs (No Objection Certificates) for its players.
