Wasim Jnr Ruled out, Hasan Ali added in the squad | Asia Cup 2022
Due to a side strain, the young pacer Mohammad Wasim Jr. has been ruled out from the upcoming Asia Cup.
Mohammad Wasim Jr. will not participate in the ACC T20 Asia Cup. He sustained the injury on Wednesday while bowling for Pakistan during practice. The team’s medical staff evaluated the bowler’s condition, and an MRI in Dubai confirmed the diagnosis, according to a press release from the PCB.
The PCB Medical Advisory Committee and a qualified physiotherapist’s independent review were consulted regarding the findings. Prior to the England tour to Pakistan, the medical team will reevaluate Wasim’s return to competitive cricket and closely monitor his rehabilitation, it was added.
Fast bowler Hasan Ali will replace Wasim in the Pakistani team for the tournament, which begins tomorrow.
According to the Pakistan Cricket Board, Hassan will board the first flight to Dubai.

“The team management requested Hasan Ali as a replacement player, and the chief selector granted the request. Hasan is currently in Rawalpindi getting ready for the National T20, which starts on August 30, after spending the previous three weeks working on his bowling at the National High-Performance Center.” the PCB statement added.
It should be noted that Pakistan is already playing without star pacer Shaheen Afridi, who is out with a knee injury.
On August 28 in Dubai, Pakistan’s Asia Cup campaign will get underway with a match against India.
Tomorrow in Dubai, the first game will take place between Afghanistan and Sri Lanka.
