Wasim Akram hopes that Kohli doesn’t find form against Pakistan | Asia Cup 2022:
Pakistan and India will meet each other on August 28 in Dubai in the Asia Cup 2022. Wasim Akram, the renowned Pakistani pacer, said in the fun that he hopes Virat Kohli won’t find his form against Pakistan.
After a five-week break, the great batsman will make his competitive cricket comeback on Sunday, August 28 against Pakistan in the Asia Cup encounter.
“Let me begin by saying that the criticism directed at Kohli by Indian fans has been unnecessary. He is among the greatest ever, not just in this historical period. He was still in perfect shape.” According to Wasim,” he remains one of the Indian team’s top batters.“who spoke to Star Sports.
“Class is everlasting, and Virat Kohli embodies that. I hope he doesn’t regain his form against Pakistan, but he will eventually return.” he continued.
It should be remembered that it has been more than a thousand days since Kohli hit his most recent century for his country. He last recorded a goal against Bangladesh on November 23, 2019, at Eden Gardens, during the second Test of the two-match series.
Babar Azam, the top batter for Pakistan, and Kohli should not be compared, according to Akram.
“The similarities are only fair. People used to compare Inzamam, Rahul Dravid, and Sachin Tendulkar when we played. Sunil Gavaskar, Javed Miandad, G. Vishwanath, and Zaheer Abbas came before that.” he claimed.
“Because he uses the proper technique, Babar has been highly consistent. He is extremely fit and ravenous. Despite being a young captain, he is picking things up quickly. Comparisons with Virat are premature, though.” Wasim added.
Wasim further stated that, “Babar is on the right track to catch up to Virat Kohli, but it would be premature to compare the two at this point. But he is unquestionably headed in the right direction to become a modern great.”
