Babar Azam Shatters Records with Third T20I Century:

On a day where the conditions favored the batsman, Babar Azam put on a masterful display of T20 batting to guide Pakistan to a formidable total. After a strong opening stand with Mohammad Rizwan, which unfortunately ended just one run shy of a century, Babar took charge, and held the innings together, scoring a well-crafted 100 not out off just 58 balls.

Despite facing some quality bowling from the New Zealand side, Babar showed his class and skill with his elegant strokeplay and ability to find gaps in the field. With just three overs left, it looked as if Babar might miss out on a well-deserved century. However, he showed determination and skill, hitting Matt Henry for 16 runs in three balls to move past 80.

But the road to the century was not an easy one for Babar. A good penultimate over from Ben Lister set the Pakistan captain back again, and with just four balls to go, Babar still needed 15. But in a stunning display of batting, he hit a six, a two, and two fours off the remaining balls, bringing up his hundred on the last ball of the innings. The milestone was registered with a slap over cover and a roar to the skies, which was met with a deafening noise from the crowd, as his teammates rose to applaud a masterclass.

Babar’s hundred was not just a personal milestone, but it also helped Pakistan post a formidable total, which ultimately proved too much for the New Zealand side to chase down. It was a testament to his leadership and skill as a captain, as well as his ability to perform under pressure and lead from the front.

Babar’s achievement also cemented his reputation as one of the most consistent short-form batters in the world. With three hundred as T20I captain, he holds the record for the most centuries by any player in this format of the game. His nine centuries in all T20s put him in second place on the overall list, behind only Chris Gayle, who has an impressive 22 tons.

Babar’s success has not just been limited to individual performances, but also as part of a partnership with Mohammad Rizwan. Together, they have the most runs (2,651), most century stands (9), and most fifty-plus stands (19) of any T20I batting partnership in history. Their average of 50.98 is also the best of any pair, with a cut-off of 1,000 runs.

In conclusion, Babar Azam’s century was not just a personal milestone, but also a testament to his skill as a batsman and leader. He has cemented his reputation as one of the best T20 batsmen in the world, and his partnership with Mohammad Rizwan is one of the most successful in T20 history. With his talent and determination, Babar Azam is sure to continue to be a force to be reckoned with in the world of cricket for years to come.
