ACB approaches PCB for a series in March in UAE after CA pulls out:

Reportedly, the Afghanistan Cricket Board has contacted the Pakistan Cricket Board to hold a three-match ODI series in UAE in March.

According to some sources, Afghanistan have shown their interest in hosting Pakistan for an ODI series in UAE after Australia pulled out from the series.

It merits a mention that on Thursday, Australia pulled out of the three-match one-day International series against Afghanistan, citing the Taliban’s crackdown on women.

The Taliban-led government has restricted Afghanistan’s women from getting University education, playing sports, going to gyms and parks.

Due to these restrictions, Afghanistan is the only full member nation without a functioning women’s team.

Earlier, the Afghanistan Board expressed their disappointment at this decision made by Cricket Australia.

“Afghanistan Cricket Board is extremely disappointed and saddened by the pathetic statement of Cricket Australia to withdraw from Afghanistan’s home three-match ODI series in March and will officially write to the International Cricket Council about the issue,” an ACB statement read.

Afghanistan’s star Naveen-ul-Haq withdrew himself from the Big Bash League while Rashid Khan said he will strongly consider his future in the tournament.

PCB is yet to give any response to this offer by the Afghanistan Cricket Board. However, the team has around a 20 days empty window as after Pakistan Super League ends on 19th March, Babar-led team’s next assignment is against New Zealand starting from 13th April.
