Shaheen Afridi to undergo a rehabilitation program:
Pakistani star pacer Shaheen Shah Afridi was on break for three and a half months due to posterior cruciate ligament injury. He came back to the World cup after completing his rehab in the UK. At the start of the tournament, he was finding difficulty in gaining rhythm. Slowly he got his rhythm back and took 11 wickets in the world cup. He is the Joint Highest Wicket taker for Pakistan in the world cup 2022 and he was also named in the ICC team of the tournament for World T20 2022.
In the T20 World Cup final 2022 against England, he injured his right knee again while taking Harry Brook’s catch. He was in pain and the team physio and doctor helped him off the field. He returned to the field but he could only bowl one delivery and had problem continuing so he could not complete the over and went off the field.
It is unlikely that Shaheen Afridi will play home test series against England, which starts in early December. The name of Haris Rauf is in news as his replacement. Later Pakistan Cricket Board Confirmed that fast bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi has been advised two weeks of rehabilitation.
PCB Stated that “The scan conducted on Monday morning prior to the team’s departure for Pakistan, has confirmed there were no signs of an injury and the knee discomfort was likely due to a forced knee flexion whilst landing”.

Star Pacer will start his rehabilitation program to strengthen his knee, a few days after his return to National High-Performance Center.
The champion fast bowler must complete the rehabilitation program and receive subsequent approval from the medical staff for his return to International Cricket.
