PSL 2025: Usman Tariq’s Suspect Action Reported | Quetta Gladiators’ spinner Usman Tariq has come under scrutiny after being reported for a suspect bowling action during his team’s PSL X match against Lahore Qalandars at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium on Sunday. The on-field umpires, Ahsan Raza and Chris Brown, raised concerns over the legality of his bowling action during the game.

Under PSL regulations, this first report does not immediately prevent Tariq from bowling. He will be allowed to continue playing unless he is reported again. However, a second report would lead to an automatic suspension, requiring him to undergo testing at an ICC-accredited lab and obtain clearance before resuming his bowling career.

This development puts Tariq under increased observation, as any further doubts about his action could result in a forced break from bowling. The Quetta Gladiators camp has not yet issued an official statement, but they are expected to work closely with the spinner to assess and rectify any technical issues in his delivery.

The PSL has seen similar cases in the past, with notable players like Mohammad Hafeez and Sunil Narine undergoing corrective measures after being reported for suspect actions. Some successfully returned after modifications, while others had to adapt their bowling styles permanently.

With crucial matches ahead, the Gladiators will hope their spinner can continue contributing without further complications. The PCB and PSL’s technical committee will monitor the situation to ensure fair play while allowing players the opportunity to correct their actions if needed.
