NZ vs PAK: Seifert’s 97 Seals 4-1 T20I Series Win | New Zealand delivered a crushing eight-wicket victory over Pakistan in the fifth T20I at Wellington’s Sky Stadium, sealing the five-match series 4-1 in emphatic fashion. After restricting Pakistan to a below-par 128-9, the hosts chased down the target in just 10 overs, thanks to a sensational, career-best knock from Tim Seifert, who fell agonizingly short of a century with an unbeaten 97 off just 38 balls.

Pakistan, put in to bat first, struggled against a disciplined New Zealand bowling attack. Jimmy Neesham was the chief destroyer, claiming career-best figures of 5-22, including key wickets that derailed Pakistan’s innings. Only captain Salman Ali Agha (51 off 39) and Shadab Khan (28 off 20) offered meaningful resistance, stitching together a 54-run stand for the sixth wicket. However, the rest of the batting lineup faltered, with Jacob Duffy (2-18) and Ben Sears also contributing to Pakistan’s struggles.

In response, New Zealand made light work of the chase, with Seifert launching a brutal assault on Pakistan’s bowlers. His innings was a masterclass in power-hitting, featuring 10 towering sixes and six crisp boundaries. He reached his fifty in just 22 balls and looked destined for a maiden T20I century before running out of deliveries. The match was effectively over inside the powerplay as Seifert’s fireworks ensured New Zealand romped home with 10 overs to spare.

The result capped off a dominant series for New Zealand, who outplayed Pakistan in all departments. The visitors, despite a consolation win in the third T20I, will need to regroup quickly as they shift focus to the upcoming three-match ODI series, beginning on March 29 in Napier. For now, the spotlight remains firmly on Seifert’s breathtaking innings—one of the most destructive performances in recent T20I history.
